NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Brady Attaway threw five touchdown passes as Stephen F. Austin beat Nicholls State 44-10 on Saturday night for a homecoming victory.
Attaway was 41 of 65 for 474 yards with two interceptions. Attaway's five touchdown passes were spread around. Two went to Aaron Thomas and included a 26-yard throw. D. J Ward, Calib Hadnot and Doug Gentry all caught touchdown passes for the Lumberjacks (3-4, 2-1 Southland).
The Lumberjacks led 31-0 at halftime.
Nicholls State got on the scoreboard in the third quarter with a 40-yard field goal by Andrew Dolan. They scored in the fourth quarter on fourth and 15. Kicker Ben Landry threw a 20-yard pass to Nick Scelfo for a touchdown. Beaux Hebert was 11 of 18 for 163 yards. Erik Buchanan caught 3 passes for 97 yards, averaging just over 32 yards per carry.
Nicholls State (1-5, 0-3 Southland) has lost three consecutive games.
