LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Cody Stroud passed for three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, and McNeese State defeated Stephen F. Austin 35-24 Saturday night to snap a two-game losing streak.
The Cowboys (5-3, 2/3 Southland Conference) trailed 24-21 when Stroud threw his third scoring pass, a 15-yarder to Kenny Brown with 3:05 left in the third quarter.
Seth Thomas set up the final score by intercepting a Brady Attaway pass at the Lumberjacks' 35. Marcus Wiltz, who rushed for 111 yards on 19 carries, promptly scored on a 35-yard burst with 3 minutes remaining.
Attaway was 42-of-68 passing for 378 yards and two touchdowns for the Stephen F. Austin (3-5, 2-2), but also had two interceptions.
