ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Richard Cue passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as South Carolina State defeated Savannah State 27-13 Saturday in the season finale for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rivals.
Cue found Caleb Davis with a 3-yard touchdown pass to make it 20-7 in the third quarter after giving the Bulldogs (5-6, 4-4) a first-and-goal at the 1 with a 28-yard toss to Temar Hemingway.
South Carolina State increased its lead to 14 points with 5:07 remaining on a 20-yard touchdown run by Cue. The Bulldogs had a field goal try from the 24 blocked, but Cephas Wilson recovered the ball and advanced it far enough for a first down at the 20.
