NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Kahlil Keys made his first collegiate touchdown an especially memorable one, setting a Yale record with a 94-yard scoring run, and the Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak with a 53-12 victory over Columbia on Saturday.
Keys' score eclipsed the record of 93 yards set in 1956 and also capped a run of 20 unanswered points in the third quarter that broke open the game. He finished with 137 yards on 10 carries, but it was Candler Rich who did the bulk of the ground work with 22 carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns, plus a receiving score.
Henry Furman completed 22 of 30 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns for the Bulldogs (4-3, 2-2 Ivy).
Furman also threw an interception that Brian East returned 27 yards for a Lions (0-7, 0-4) touchdown early in the second quarter to make it 10-6.
Columbia had just 28 yards rushing.
