PRINCETON, N.J. -- Quinn Epperly amassed 401 total yards of offense and accounted for six touchdowns to help Princeton pull away from Cornell 53-20 Saturday.

Epperly, who was an efficient 32-of-35 with 325 yards, tossed three touchdowns and ran for another three. He rushed for 69 yards and even had a reception for seven yards. He completed 29 consecutive passes to start the game, setting an NCAA record. His first incompletion came in the third quarter.

The Tigers (6-1, 4-0 Ivy League) led early when Epperly hit Roman Wilson for a seven-yard touchdown.

The Big Red (1-6, 0-4) trimmed their deficit to 13-15 in the second quarter when Justin Harris returned a fumble two yards for a score. Princeton responded quickly as Epperly scored two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.

Epperly continued the onslaught in the third quarter, finding Seth DeValve for a 12-yard score and connecting with Wilson on a 17-yarder.

Research Notes

Princeton QB Quinn Epperly began the Tigers' game against Cornell Saturday by completing his first 29 passes (his first incompletion did not occur until there was just 5:14 left in the 3rd quarter). Epperly's effort is a new FCS record for consecutive completions in a game. The old mark was 28 straight completions by Applachian State's Richie Williams against Furman in 2004. Epperly completed 91.4 percent of his passes for the game (32-35), a new FCS mark for completion percentage with a minimum of 30 passes attempted. The old record was 91.3 percent set by Derek Carr of Tennessee-Martin, who went 42-46 against Murray State in 2012.
