LORMAN, Miss. -- Jaymason Lee threw for three touchdowns as Alabama A&M came back to beat Alcorn State 19-18 Saturday.
Alcorn State (7-3, 5-2 SWAC) jumped out to a 15-0 lead to open the game. The Braves recorded a safety and followed that up with a 7-play, 60-yard scoring drive, capped by John Gibbs Jr. finding Jordan Payne for a 7-yard score. Joe Price's 1-yard touchdown extended the Braves lead to 15-0, but Alabama A&M (3-6, 3-4) found their stride.
Lee found Dorsey again in the third quarter, giving the Bulldogs the 19-18 lead they would not give up.
Alcorn State missed a field goal with 2:38 remaining in the game. The Braves forced a three and out, but fumbled the ensuing punt.
South Carolina's loss to The Citadel, coupled with Georgia and Florida struggling in tight victories, was an embarrassment for the conference.
