WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Brent Caprio threw one touchdown pass and the defense forced three turnovers as William & Mary defeated New Hampshire 17-0 Saturday.
Tre McBride caught the 6-yard TD pass from Caprio to end the first half and give William & Mary (6-3, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) a 10-0 lead. Caprio was 14 of 24 for 241 yards.
Two New Hampshire (4-4, 3-2) turnovers led to scores in the first half. A fumble by Sean Goldrich, the Wildcats starting quarterback, led to a 28-yard field goal. DeAndre Houston-Carson intercepted Andy Vailas at midfield, leading to McBride's TD.
Goldrich was intercepted by Ryan Smith at the Tribe's 11-yard line in the third quarter, and the Wildcats didn't get any closer to the end zone.
The Tribe held the Wildcats to 84 yards rushing, the fourth game in five seasons where they have held UNH under 100 yards rushing.
