HOUSTON -- Charles Ross matched a Conference USA record with five rushing touchdowns and Rice rolled to a 52-14 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night.
Ross finished with a career-high 215 yards rushing as the Owls (7-3, 5-1) bounced back from a 28-16 loss at North Texas on Oct. 31. Luke Turner also had a 1-yard TD run as Rice set season highs with 415 yards rushing and 582 yards overall.
It was an emotional victory for Owls coach David Bailiff, who was on the sideline just days after his father, Bob, died on Tuesday night.
