SEC commissioner Greg Sankey reiterated Tuesday at the spring meetings in Sandestin, Florida that he doesn't think satellite camps are "healthy for college football" and further emphasized that they are "about recruiting." That said, Sankey said there have been conversations among SEC officials about conference-sponsored satellite camp events. One of his main concerns now about unregulated camps is the flow of money and third parties becoming too involved, which is a concern Alabama coach Nick Saban voiced earlier in the day.

Alabama coach Nick Saban was on top of his game Tuesday in speaking to reporters at the SEC spring meetings. He repeated his belief that college football needs a commissioner and said satellite camps are going to put football coaches in situations where they're having to deal with more third parties in recruiting similar to AAU basketball. "It's going to be the Wild, Wild West," said Saban, who also believes that if you're going to test for marijuana in college football that it should be for all teams and not just the four teams that make the College Football Playoff.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze isn't running from the Rebels' NCAA troubles, but told on Monday that to accuse him or anybody on his staff of knowingly breaking the rules would be wrong. "The first thing I would say is that I own it. That's part of it when you're the head coach. You take the good with the bad," Freeze said. "But there's a big difference between making mistakes in recruiting and going out there with the intent to cheat. I don't have any information that anybody on my staff has been involved in any illegal payments to players or offering any inducements to players, and if I did have that information, I would fire them."

Jim Grobe statement on his hiring as Baylor's interim coach today: "It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to join the Baylor football program during this important time. I am looking forward to getting to know and working with the coaches and players in the coming days, and I have great respect for Baylor as an institution and its long-standing heritage. As a coach, winning is important. At the same time, I want to assure the Baylor family that every decision we will make in this football program will be made with Baylor University, her students and our student-athletes in mind."

Who throws to jet ski better?

Both Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph and Texas QB Shane Buechele make incredible throws to friends on jet skis. Whose throw is better? You be the judge.
