Penn State pulls away in seesaw battle

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Jacqueline Batteast scored 23 points to lead Notre Dame to an 84-52 win over Premier Sports in an exhibition game on Wednesday night.

Batteast made 9-of-14 shots and had five rebounds and four steals. Megan Duffy added 16 points, six rebounds and five assists for Notre Dame, which held a 47-36 rebounding edge.

Lisa Cline led Premier Sports with 14 points, while Tomeka Brown and Kenosha Chastang each scored 11.

Premier Sports trailed 22-16 with over five minutes to play before Batteast keyed a 16-5 run to help the Irish pull away.

Notre Dame has won 16 straight exhibition games, going 21-1 in preseason games since 1993-94.
