Cardinals-Redskins Preview

SCOUTING REPORT
Arizona running game must protect RattayThis is a turning point game for both the Washington Redskins and the Arizona Cardinals. If the Redskins win, they move to 4-2 and stay in the fight in the NFC East and the wild- card race. The Cardinals are currently tied for first place in the NFC West and a loss could cost them precious ground in that race. And no, it's not too early to talk about the playoffs because both teams are still in positions to determine their own fates.

Both teams are coming off losses and are hoping to regain confidence and momentum. The Redskins dropped too many balls on offense and didn't take advantage of QB Jason Campbell's consistent play and leadership against the Packers, while the Cardinals are down to their third-string quarterback after Kurt Warner was hurt in the loss to Carolina. The Washington defense is playing very well right now and is the strength of the team, and the pressure will be on Cardinals QB Tim Rattay to manage the game effectively and limit his mistakes.

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- Center Casey Rabach and strongside linebacker Marcus Washington were inactive for the Washington Redskins' game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Rabach, out with a strained right groin, is the latest in a series of Redskins offensive linemen to get hurt this season. Stephon Heyer, a rookie backup along the line, also was inactive, with a hamstring injury.

Mike Pucillo was expected to start in Rabach's place.

Washington missed the game with a bad hamstring. Randall Godfrey was to start in his place.

For the Cardinals, weakside linebacker Karlos Dansby was out again with a knee injury, while recently signed Tim Hasselbeck was listed as the third quarterback.

Dansby was expected to be replaced in the lineup by Monte Beisel, who led Arizona with 10 tackles in last week's loss to Carolina.
