SAN DIEGO (AP) -- LaDainian Tomlinson jumped for joy. Norv Turner's eyes were red.It was rainy and gloomy, but it might as well have been a sunny day.Yes, the San Diego Chargers can win in the playoffs.Thirteen long years after their last postseason victory, the Chargers finally came to life late in the second half Sunday to beat the Tennessee Titans 17-6 in an AFC wild-card game.
The Chargers are no one-man show, learning to win even when star running back LaDainian Tomlinson isn't at his best. Here are his worst performances of the year:
|Sept. 9 vs. Bears||25||W, 14-3|
|Nov. 4 at Vikings||40||L, 35-17|
|Jan. 6 vs. Titans||42||W, 17-6|
|Sept. 16 at Patriots||43||L, 38-14|
The Titans have now lost eight straight games in the Pacific and Mountain time zones, including six straight in California. Luckily for Jeff Fisher and his guys, the Titans are not scheduled to play anywhere west of Kansas City in 2008.
|2007*||at San Diego||L, 17-6|
|2007||at Denver||L, 34-20|
|2006||at San Diego||L, 40-7|
|2005||at Arizona||L, 20-10|
|2004||at Oakland||L, 40-35|
|2004||at San Diego||L, 38-17|
|2002*||at Oakland||L, 41-24|

Tomlinson spent the last few minutes on the sideline with a wrap on his left calf. ... This was the third time the Chargers had two or more players surpass 100 yards receiving in a playoff game. In their epic 41-38 overtime win against Miami on Jan. 2, 1982, Kellen Winslow had 166 yards, Charlie Joiner 108 and Wes Chandler 106. In a wild-card win over Pittsburgh on Jan. 9, 1983, Chandler had 124 and Winslow 102. ... Fisher is 0-5 in his career against San Diego and 1-10, counting playoffs, on the West Coast.
Although the first half was a bit of a snore that was completely dominated by exceptional defenses and poor offensive execution, San Diego pulled away in the second half. Tennessee's defense was spectacular, and Albert Haynesworth & Co. simply dominated San Diego's offensive front, but the Chargers had far more firepower than the Titans and that offensive talent eventually came to the forefront. With a lead near the end of the game, San Diego teed off on Vince Young. The Titans' passing game was thoroughly exposed, but the Bolts need to play much better to get past the Colts.
