Giants rebound from first loss, send 49ers to fourth straight defeat
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Who cares that the New York Giants' run on the road is over? The Super Bowl champions are winning at home this season.
Brandon Jacobs ran for two touchdowns, Eli Manning threw for one, Michael Johnson had two interceptions and the Giants managed to make fewer mistakes than the woeful San Francisco 49ers in a 29-17 victory on Sunday in a sloppily played game.Fast Facts
• The Giants, who beat the 49ers for the third straight time, are now 4-0 at home this season after going 3-5 at Giants Stadium in 2007.
• Brandon Jacobs had two rushing touchdowns, his fourth straight game with a TD and sixth career multi-TD game.
• Eli Manning and Plaxico Burress also hooked up for a TD. With 32 TDs since 2005, they are the most prolific QB-WR scoring tandem in that period.
