Warner throws for three scores, Cards' D steps up big at end to beat 49ers
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals accomplished something they hadn't done since the team moved to the desert 20 years ago. They won on Monday night. So what if it was a struggle down to the wire? This victory felt just fine to a franchise that has had oh-so-little to cheer about for decades.
• The Cardinals opened up a four-game lead in the NFC West by limiting the 49ers to three points in the second half.
• With the win, Arizona is three games above .500 for the first time since 1988.
• Kurt Warner completed 76.2 percent of his passes for 328 yards, the sixth time this season Warner has completed at least 70 percent of his passes. Warner has 300 passing yards in 45 percent of his starts, highest all-time in the NFL.
• San Francisco lost its sixth consecutive game, the fourth time in five seasons the 49ers have had a losing streak that lengthy.
