Carpenter's field goal with 38 seconds left lifts Miami past Raiders
MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins showed again they can beat a bad team -- barely. Next comes the biggest game yet in the franchise's revival.
Fast Facts
• The Dolphins won their second straight game in as many weeks decided by three points or fewer (last season they were 0-6 in those games).
• Miami has won four straight overall for the first time since Week 9-12 of the 2006 season.
• The Dolphins improved to 6-4 after 10 games for the first time since the 2003 season (also 6-4; finished 10-6).
• The Raiders finished with 186 total yards -- the second time in their last three games held to under 200 yards.

Game notes
Russell was informed after the game of a death in his family, the Raiders said. He didn't talk to reporters. ... Ginn's touchdown rushing was the first by a Dolphins receiver since 2003. ... For the fourth consecutive game, Miami had the ball for more than 10 minutes in the fourth quarter. ... Shane Lechler continues to be one of Oakland's few bright spots. He averaged 52.7 yards on six kicks, four inside the 20.
