The Giants, who opened last season 5-0 before slumping to 8-8, lost tight end Kevin Boss (neck/concussion) and special teams captain Chase Blackburn (knee). In addition to Moore, Panthers WR Charly Martin sustained a concussion. Placekicker Todd Carter suffered back spasms ... Carolina's only second-half points came when Greg Hardy blocked a punt through the end zone for a safety with 3:57 to go.

The last Giants QB to throw 3+ TD and 3+ Int in a game that the team won was Charlie Conerly on November 2, 1958 (3 TD, 3 Int) in a 21-17 win vs Cleveland.

Eli Manning is the first Giants QB since at least 1960 to throw 3+ TD and 3+ Int in a game that the team won.
Only one quarterback did it last year: Eli's brother Peyton had 4 TD and 3 Int on December 13 in a 28-16 win vs the Broncos. |
