The receiver might have been impressed if he hadn't seen it so many times before.More From ESPN.com
Drew Brees doesn't need much help these days. But the Saints with a decent defense? Now that's scary, writes Pat Yasinskas. Blog

Research Notes
There have been six seasons in franchise history where a Saints quarterback has thrown for 4,000 yards. Drew Brees has all six of them.
With Drew Brees eclipsing 4,000 passing yards against the Lions he now has 6 consecutive seasons with at least 4,000 passing yards. That ties an NFL record, which Peyton Manning accomplished from 1999-2004. [+]Brees Is Pretty Good

The Lions had five penalties that nullified 112 passing yards against the Saints. Two of the three offensive pass interference calls that came against Nate Burleson negated 67 yards, including a 42-yard reception in the fourth quarter that would have put the Lions deep in Saints' territory. Burleson became the first player since the start of the 2001 season to be penalized for offensive pass interference three times in a single game.
NEXT LEVEL: The Lions sent four or fewer pass rushers against Drew Brees on 77 percent of his dropbacks on Sunday. The Lions, who rely on their front four to generate their pass rush, were missing Ndamukong Suh due to a two-game suspension, and Brees took advantage of their lack of a pass rush, completing 22 of 28 for 297 yards and three touchdowns.
NEXT LEVEL: Drew Brees picked apart a depleted Lions pass defense on throws inside the numbers, completing 15 of 18 passes for 233 yards. With starting defensive backs Louis Delmas, Chris Houston and Brandon McDonald out with injuries, the Lions allowed a season-high number of touchdowns on such throws.
