NFL MONDAY LIVE

It will be pretty difficult for any QB to reach Peyton Manning's 510 touchdowns. Drew Brees would need more than four more seasons at his current pace, Aaron Rodgers over 9 and Andrew Luck, yes, 16 more seasons without missing any games with injury.

Texans rookie LB Jadeveon Clowney is officially inactive and will not play tonight vs. the Steelers. Clowney has been out since injuring his knee in Week 1.

"Brian [Hoyer] is still firmly our starter Nothing's changed. Each week we make the decision as to if we want to include Johnny [Manziel] in the plan."

Browns coach Mike Petttine on Cleveland's QB situation.

The Rams released WR Austin Pettis, citing roster concerns at other positions. Pettis -- a 3rd-round pick in 2011 -- had 12 catches for 118 yards this season, but was inactive for the Rams' win yesterday.

"I couldn't make it work for our team and our players. I was disappointed, because I told [GM John Schneider] I would get this done. I thought I could, but it didn't work out the way we had hoped and we had to make our move."

RUN THE TABLE?

"What have we got, nine more games to play? Let's win all the nine games. I think we can do it."

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul. The team is 3-4 heading into its bye week.

"Not that I didn't like what I was doing, I just wanted to do a little more as a receiver. I wanted to just get downfield just a little bit more than what I was doing, so that definitely caused frustration a little bit."

NO MONEY ON MNF FAVORITE

Normally the betting public backs Pittsburgh big time. Not so this week, where the MGM Grand says its taken just $3,000 in bets on tonight's home team. See The Casino's Dilemma

"It won't happen again."

STEELERS STREAKING AT HOME

The Steelers will host the Texans on Monday Night Football. Pittsburgh has won 15 consecutive MNF home games, the longest such streak in series history. More Stats To Know

it's how you finish

The Cowboys have been stellar in the second half this season. Take a look:

  • Tony Romo: 95.7 QBR (best in NFL)
  • DeMarco Murray: 403 rush yards, four rush TD (most in NFL)
  • Dez Bryant: 399 receiving yards (most in NFL)

HISTORY NOT ON SEAHAWKS SIDE

After winning it all last season, Seattle has opened 2014 with a 3-3 mark. Eight teams have repeated as Super Bowl champions, and none of those teams started worse than 4-2. The last two teams to repeat, the Patriots in 2004, and Broncos in 1998, were undefeated through 6 games.

It might behoove Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall to just get along -- especially when you consider only two other active QB-WR combinations have more than their 415 completions: Drew Brees-Marques Colston (627) and Matt Ryan-Roddy White (548).
