Tom Brady releases statement on Facebook

It says in part, "I want to thank my family, my friends, all of the fans, past and current players and my teammates for the support they have given me throughout this challenging experience. I also want to thank Judge Berman and his staff. ... While I am pleased to be eligible to play, I am sorry our league had to endure this. I don’t think it has been good for our sport - to a large degree, we have all lost. I am also sorry to anyone whose feelings I may have hurt as I have tried to work to resolve this situation."

Baylor's 400-pound marvel Laquan McGowan takes the field for warmups. After his Cotton Bowl TD, how much more will he be featured in Bears' passing attack this season? So many options but McGowan a unique matchup to say the least.

Mike Rodak @mikerodak

Bills have waived safety Jonathan Meeks after trying to trade him, I’m told. If not claimed, he could re-sign to practice squad.

A quiet Friday for the Jets, but they worked out a handful of players, including QB Matt Blanchard (Packers) and TE Brandon Bostick. You may remember Bostick from the NFC Championship Game; he's the Packer who botched the onside kick. Tight end is a big need for the Jets. Look for a move over the next 48 hours.

Adam Caplan @caplannfl

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with #Raiders OLB Sio Moore. Versatility/pass rushing ability attractive to other teams.

Rich Cimini @RichCimini

Jets say they're happy with WR depth, but they worked out a handful of WRs -- Alan Bonner, DeAndre Carter, Vernon Johnson, Shane Wynn. #nyj

Jaguars cut 4 draft picks from 2013-2015 today. That's a sign the roster is more talented than it was when GM David Caldwell took over. Sixth- and seventh-round picks shouldn't make the team every year. That shows a dearth of talent.

Jaguars trim roster to 57. Former Auburn QB Nick Marshall, now a CB, is safe for now. Team has 4 more moves to make by 4 pm ET Saturday.
