The New York Rangers had to rally for two victories on their current three-game winning streak.

They hope they won't need to do it again Wednesday night when they visit the Calgary Flames for the first time since 2002 to begin a three-game western Canadian road trip.

New York (20-15-4) scored the tying goal with 5:51 in the third period and won 4-3 in overtime against Montreal at home on Sunday. The Rangers also trailed by a goal after two periods before scoring three in the final 20 minutes to win 4-2 over Carolina last Wednesday to start the streak.

"You certainly have to be ready to do that," New York coach Tom Renney said of coming from behind. "As much as the game is about Xs and Os, it's also about heart and desire. There truly is a visceral connection to this game."

New York's other win during the streak was a 6-1 victory on Saturday in Toronto, during which the Rangers scored five power-play goals.

This game begins a stretch of three in four days for the Rangers, who also play at Vancouver on Thursday and in Edmonton on Saturday.

After Chris Drury tied the game at 3-3 Sunday, Brendan Shanahan scored 1:06 into overtime for the Rangers, who have outscored their opponents 14-6 during their current run. They'll look to win four in a row for the third time this season.

"I think we still have a lot of work to do," said New York's Scott Gomez, who had two assists Sunday to extend his point streak to 12 games. "Good hockey clubs find a way in the third. You've got to be able to come from behind in this league, and I think we are starting to show that."

Drury also had an assist Sunday, while Daniel Girardi added a goal and an assist. Jaromir Jagr scored in his third straight game, totaling four goals and three assists.

Henrik Lundqvist made 18 saves for his second straight win. He made 19 saves in the Rangers' 4-2 win over Calgary on Jan. 10, 2006 in the teams' last meeting.

New York has won six of the last nine meetings with the Flames. The Rangers won 2-1 on Nov. 14, 2002 in their last trip to Calgary.

The Flames (19-14-7) look to close out their homestand with a 3-0 record. After beating defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim 5-3 on Saturday, the Flames recorded their first win of the season over Vancouver on Monday, 2-1.

Daymond Langkow set up goals by Owen Nolan and Kristian Huselius for Calgary, which killed off all four Vancouver power play chances after allowing its opponents to go 4-for-8 with the man-advantage in its previous two contests.

"Our (penalty killing) was good," said Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff, who had 24 saves Monday in his second straight win. "We knew it was going to be key to do a good job.

Though he's allowed a total of four goals on the homestand, Kiprusoff is 0-3-0 with a 3.34 goals-against average against New York. He needs one win to reach 20 for the fourth straight season.

Huselius has three goals in his last two contests. He has four goals and two assists in his career versus New York.
